Massage has many benefits from pain relief and relaxation to emotional support and improvement. I received my license in July 2016 and completed an Associate Degree program from South Piedmont Community College in 2017. Through school I was certified in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy and several spa techniques including mud wraps and hot stones. I also received training in Mother-to-Maidenhood, this included fertility, pre-natal, postpartum and infinite massage.
During school I had the opportunity to complete a clinical rotation at Levine's Pediatric Oncology and Hematology unit. There I massaged patients, staff and family members. I have since went on to become certified in Oncology Massage and Lymphatic drainage through Christine Courtney.
Bendegewebe massage was another connective tissue massage that I was trained in during school with instructor Dale Perry. This has become one of my favorite massage modalities. It is lighter and unlike the typical massage but has so many benefits. Along with this practice I have recently become certified in cupping to aide in opening up fascia and working tight, adhered tissues without using deep pressure.
Through South Piedmont Community College I also completed a course for Medical Massage. I also have a background as a CNA and have worked in home care settings, a local emergency room and am currently in nursing school. I enjoy working with clients that are medically frail but still may benefit from massage therapy.
Please feel free to contact me for further questions and appointments. I would love the opportunity to help with you with your massage needs.
